Dear Westside Family,

Happy Friday Westside! As wild as it sounds, we are already actively planning for the end of year and all the special events that occur for our kids each year! Last year we launched a Westside Celebration Week! It was a week full of recognizing and celebrating all the accomplishments of our kids. This tradition will continue this year and will include special activities for the family, Virtual Leadership Night (this year aligned to our Mission: "Lead, Grow, Inspire"), Westside Class of 2014 Senior Parade, KG/5th Graduation, & our new favorite tradition "School's Out for Summer Parade!" Please take time to view the celebration section below and mark your calendars for some family fun! Kinder and 5th grade teachers will be sending more detailed graduation information in their weekly newsletters!

Our 2nd & 3rd Grade Inspire Project is off to a great start! Next week is the last week for collections! Feel free to join in and contribute any of the items below to their canned food drive! Serving our community in this way is part of building young leaders who inspire their community and world! We hope you can participate!

Lastly we want to remind you that your feedback is important to our continuous improvement process! We are a community school and your input helps guide how we grow our campus. Please consider providing your feedback in the form of the Measurable Results Assessment (MRA). This assessment will take you 5-10 minutes of your time and can be accessed here! Thank you for considering this request and helping our campus Lead, Grow, and Inspire each year! Feedback is due May 7th!

Enjoy the weekend,

Amanda Reyes Lillard

We want to remind our families that if your child or someone in your household tests positive for COVID, please report it to Principal Lillard and Nurse Heidi. We have to follow quarantining procedures and guide you as to what that would be for your child, as it relates to school. Even during the holidays, we need to be able to figure out how it impacts the school. Contact tracing is the reason it can impact our school. You may think the holiday doesn't impact the school but depending on our conversation it very well could and we need to be able to intervene appropriately. Nurse Heidi and myself will be checking COVID related emails during holiday breaks to ensure we can take appropriate actions to keep our school operating as safe as possible.

Pre-K, Kinder, and New Family Registration has opened. Click Here to register!

Parent Input Forms are available until April 30th for our 1st - 5th grade students. Incoming Kindergarteners will have a meeting with our Kinder team on June 1st or 2nd, and will be either in-person or virtual via Zoom. More information will be available in your "Welcome S'More".

"Once a Rocket, Always a Rocket!"

Although we hate to see you leave, we understand that new adventures might await you! If your child will not be returning to Westside in the fall, please contact our registrar at 512-570-7013 or and let her know where you are going!

Important: Recess Routine Adjustments: Due to the recent changes with the CDC and LISD, we changed the mask protocol for students from mandatory to optional during outdoor recess, only. Students will continue to play in their classroom groups/pods outdoors and when the students return into the building, they will continue to wear masks throughout the day. Thank you for your continued support!

Virtual Families: Please remember that there is a capacity limit of 5 people in our secure vestibule. When you see there are 5 people inside, please wait outside until someone has left. We appreciate our families working hard to pick up their child's materials, but we also want to make sure we are operating safely when we have to do pick up in a closed room setting. Thank you for understanding.
