Leander ISD Teams With Boy Scouts
Leander ISD and the Capitol Area Council Boy Scouts of America are teaming up during the month of November to collect phone cards for the men and women serving in our Armed Forces. The phone card drive is being conducted under the umbrella theme of “For Our Troops”. The phone cards will help families to stay connected with their loved ones serving abroad during the upcoming holiday season.

“Many families in our communities and in our schools have family members who are serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. The “For Our Troops” campaign will help us give back to these individuals and their families for the sacrifices they are making for our freedom,” said LISD Board President Don McCall.

All LISD campuses and many student organizations are participating in the phone card drive. The Boy Scouts will also be collecting cards from neighborhood associations, churches and other community organizations. Community members are urged to purchase a phone card and drop it off at any LISD campus. The Boy Scouts will collect the cards and help deliver them to the troops or their families.
